Another great week of running

I was able to get out at the beginning of the week for a 10K sorta tempo run. It wasn't a great tempo but I ran hard the whole way. I went out for a hill repeat. I was able to get out when the sun was still up so I ran the canal road hill. I can't do that road in the dark, there are no street lights and the cars really speed up the hill. I did 5 hill repeats on a really tough 370m hill with a 10% grade.

On Saturday I went to the Short Hills Provincial Park again. I ran the same trail as the week before. I was able to run this route 10 minutes faster than the week before. I ran up more of the hills. I still had to walk up some of the hills. I ran down almost every hill. I really dislike downhills, I find them very hard on the knees. I did the same 2 loops as the last week. I think I could have ran a third loop but I have a race coming up Tuesday. I pick up a book on the park with the trails mapped. I am planning to add another trail for next weekend.

Coming up I have a 10K on Tuesday, the Peachbud 10K. Last year it was the hottest day of the year. At 6:00pm it was 30C with a humidex of 40C and no wind at all. Residents of Grimsby had their hoses out by the street, some had their sprinklers going, others had hoses hung up like a shower. It was a tough fun run.

The weather forecast so far says 20C. This would be a perfect race temperature.
