Third Day on the DL and Thanksgiving

Well this is my third day with no running. The toughest part of this is I have absolutely NO KNEE PAIN. I didn't have any before my last ill-fated run either. I have to keep this in mind. I know I need to force myself to NOT run.
I have started doing leg exercises I read about in "The Runners' Repair Manual". I am hoping these exercises will help to reduce the chances of re-injury.

Thanksgiving weekend means a lot of food, combined with no running means the rising of the scale numbers. It will be tough to keep the weight down.

I guess this post wouldn't be complete without a few thought about giving thanks. First thanks is to my family for their patience through my Fat period of life and now for giving me time to get out and exercise to stay healthy. I am thankful that I still have my health even after years of obesity. I am thankful for my ability to run. I hope my knee will heal so I can continue to use this gift. Thanks to all the advice and encouragement I get through this blog and through Twitter. It really helps.

Happy Thanksgiving to my friends in The Great White North. Happy Columbus Day to my American friends.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too! We aren't having turkey or anything...Well, best of luck with the knee. It sounds like you're doing all the right things!

I bought a copy of that book during my first running life in the 80's. I have torn my house apart looking for it since then, it's a classic.

Good luck with the knee - when mine acts up it is usually an indication of (1) my shoes are shot - I can only seem to get 200 miles from a pair before this happens or (2) my chronically tight hamstrings, so I up the stretching.
