It has been a good couple of weeks. I have gotten to my WW meetings. I am starting to reel in my eating habits. I started by making my lunches in advance. I cook up a bunch of chicken , some rice and put them in the freezer in single serving sizes. The majority of holiday junk food has found the food bin.I haven't had any of the calorie packed, fat laden, awesome tasting Starbucks treats this year.
Years ago I made a New Years resolution that I haven't broken yet. I resolved never to make another new Years resolution again. Instead this year I have promised myself (and only myself) that I will try to make better decisions. In Cubs they say "I promise to do my best" being a leader I promise the same thing.
I have not been running has as much as I'd like, but it is improving. I have gotten out for a couple more trail runs. Time wise, they have been long runs/walks. The last two Saturdays I was did 1 1/2 hours of forward motion. Beautiful, icy, snowy cold runs. I never thought I would say that a couple of years ago.
As for the disappointment. I was hoping to enter the Robbie Burns 8K race to celebrate his 250th birthday. It SOLD OUT, before I registered. I don't know if I can get ready in time for the 1/2-marathon at the end of February. I still have my doubt about the Around the Bay 30K. I will slowly work towards it, but time will tell.

Two good weeks and one disappointment

January is a good time to refocus everything. I'm not one for resolutions, but I do try to make goals. Sometimes my goals are too big - gotta work on that one...
I signed up on Buckeye on the 1000 mile club - wishful thinking.. I saw your name there. Good 10K run!
I can't wait until it warms up. I'm looking forward to hitting the trails again! My roads are ice free, so I will continue to run there.
Silence is never a good thing...are you up to no good???? How are you??
How's your Around the Bay training going?
Hey there, what's up? Hope you're half marathon went well!
I'll be at the Bay too with my family. Would love to meet you.
'kay, can't spell today ... that's your, not you're ...
